Unit 9 — Model checking and diagnostics

Wednesday 4 November, 12:30–16:00

Diagnosing problems in statistical models and their underlying designs

Students will learn that fitting a model is not the end of an analysis and will use graphical and numerical diagnostics to decide whether conclusions are defensible.

Preparation on model assumptions and diagnostic reasoning will be added here. ## In class Students will diagnose models with distributional, variance, dependence, or structural problems. ## After class Follow-up work on revising models and communicating remaining limitations will be added here.
