Unit 6 — Simulation-based power analysis
Wednesday 7 October, 12:30–16:00
Exploring sample size, effect size, variation, and power
This class uses simulation to study how design choices and assumptions affect the probability of detecting scientifically relevant effects.
Preparation on power, effect size, uncertainty, and repeated simulation will be added here. ## In class Students will build power curves and compare alternative experimental designs. ## After class Reflection on assumptions and defensible sample-size recommendations will be added here.
