A bounded final preparation

Report and figure: 30–45 minutes.

Slides: 20–35 minutes.

Rehearse: 10–20 minutes.

Final render/check: 10–20 minutes.

Choose durations within 1–2 hours total.

Tell one coherent story

Question → design → analysis → estimate → limits → follow-up.

One main outcome and comparison.

One figure that carries the main result.

The proposed eight-minute talk

Time Content
0–1 Question and context
1–2½ Design and analysis
2½–4½ Figure, estimate, uncertainty
4½–5½ Diagnostic and sensitivity
5½–7 Follow-up design and simulation
7–8 Conclusion, limitations, next information

Make the figure understandable alone

Label outcome, units, groups and time.

Explain what points and intervals represent.

Match the caption, which group is subtracted from which and paragraph.

Prepare to answer useful questions

Why does this model match the design?

What assumption most limits your conclusion?

Does the sensitivity comparison change the practical account?

What makes your proposed effect and sample size plausible?

Final reproducibility check

Render from the report folder with required inputs.

Use relative paths, named packages and traceable calculations.

Check that final prose and slides agree with the output.

Bring the final account

Suggested report: 3–5 narrative pages, reproducible source and inputs.

Suggested presentation: 8 minutes + 5 minutes questions.

Wednesday 2 December, 12:30–16:00.

These are educational outputs, not confirmed examination requirements.
