# Final preparation checklist

Use Unit 13 feedback to decide what needs attention. Avoid adding an entirely new analysis at the last moment.

## Scientific clarity

- [ ] One question and planned comparison are stated before results.
- [ ] Assignment/sampling, animals or groups that received separate treatment assignments, or were selected separately for observation, grouping and repeats are visible in the diagram.
- [ ] The distribution used to describe the outcome and model structure are justified for this question/design; a plausible alternative is explained.
- [ ] The saved analysis plan and reasoned revisions can be traced in a decision log.
- [ ] Each member can answer a directed question about the model choice and its consequences.
- [ ] A diagnostic decision and one justified sensitivity comparison have an explanation.
- [ ] Main estimate, interval, units, time and conditioning/averaging population are named.
- [ ] Practical importance is distinguished from precision; broad intervals are acknowledged.
- [ ] Observational associations are described as associations.
- [ ] Synthetic data/figures are labelled; source paper context is kept separate from fitted teaching results.

## Follow-up planning

- [ ] Allocation, the number of animals or groups assigned to each treatment or selected for observation, blocking and measurement schedule are explained.
- [ ] The target effect is a prospective planning assumption with a rationale.
- [ ] Candidate sample sizes refer to animals or groups that receive separate treatment assignments.
- [ ] Two plausible assumptions and uncertainty caused by using a limited number of simulated experiments/omissions are identified.
- [ ] The proposal is feasible; it is planning, not instructions to conduct an animal experiment.

## Communication

- [ ] Axes, which group is subtracted from which and outcome units are readable.
- [ ] All three members contribute and know the main result and limitation.
- [ ] A full rehearsal fits 8 minutes, leaving room for pauses.
- [ ] Offline slides or a PDF/report and the main figure are available.
- [ ] Source/reference-output use is acknowledged accurately.

Date/time and any formal submission deadline will be confirmed separately.
